SUMMERFEST '81
Labor Day Weekend marks the 2nd annual SUMMERFEST in the parking lot next door to EXEDRA Since thé gay picnic could not be held on Labor Day Weekend, it was decided to put on a carnival type celebration on this holiday where people could come during the day and evening for a good time and be with their friends and hopefully meet new ones.
The festivities begin at 4p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and last 'til" after hours". Last year the entertainers were on stage until 5 a.m.
Food concessions from other bars and businesses are set up to compliment the entertainment on stage and add to the festive atmosphere of our own "Gay Octoberfest". Food last year included many varities, suchas tacos, Italian sausage and barbeque ribs. More great food is scheduled this year. Game concessions are also set upwhere you can toss a cream pie into the face of a drag queen or throw darts at Anita Bryant or Totie from the Vaults. (That's Totie's picture, he doesn't like real darts in his body). Other booths planned include one sponsored by N.O.C.I. to sell picnic tickets to "WE ARE FAMILY" FESTIVAL '81, and raffle tickets for their Windjammer Cruise first prize. Other activities are Disco Dancing, roller skating (bring your own skates) and live entertainment on the outdoor
stage.
This event is sponsored by ACTION MAGAZINE. If you would like set up a concession, you should contact us at P.0. Box 506, Lakewood, 0. 44107 or call 226-6424 for more information. There is no charge for concession space, you must supply your own booth and not compete with another concession.
